Family Constellation Facilitation with Beth Alden
Family Constellation work uses a unique and holistic approach to viewing symptoms,
personal issues and individual behavioral patterns in the framework of the larger family
architecture, sometimes including several generations of ancestry. Based on the lifetime
work of Bert Hellinger, this work draws on the strength of the family’s morphic field
(the “library” of ancestral experiences and memories), the presence and intention of the
individual seeking help and the facilitated discovery of hidden family loyalties. With
gentle facilitation, the client is directed to receive a new healing image to counteract a
hidden or repeated image of an unresolved family wound.
Family Constellation work can include attention to early birth and childhood traumas, unresolved family traumas
from earlier generations, family secrets, exclusion of family members and ancestral patterns. It relies on three tenets: 1. that everyone belongs in the family system, 2. there is a “natural” order of belonging and 3. a balanced give and take exchange must exist to support healthy relationships. The purpose of Family Constellation intervention is not to fix or take anything from the client. Instead, it intends to create a new healing image to facilitate self healing and empowerment. It aims to create a new relationship to symptoms so that love can flow freely in the current family and clients can access
increased awareness, vibrancy and soul weight. This can happen in a small group, individually and bodywork.
