Myofascial Release Myofascial Release releases tension from the fibrous bands of connective tissue (fascia) in the body. It frees restrictions or blockages in the fascia, and tension on bones, muscles and joints is ultimately relieved. Myofascial release restores balance in the body. Gentle kneading and stretching will soften, lengthen, stretch and realign the fascia. Provided By: Suzi Wilkoff & Tara Hedges |
Sports Massage Sports massage can be for either pre-event or post-event. The pre-event massage can help to reduce the risk of injury, as well as help the athlete to gain maximum flexibility, power, speed and endurance; preparing the athlete for all out effort during the time of competition. The massage therapist can also aid the athlete in performing warm-up stretches such as active assisted stretches. Provided By: Karianne Cisek |
Deep Tissue Massage Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Some of the same strokes are used in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Provided By: Karianne Cisek |
Pregnancy Massage The massage is done in a side-lying position for the greater comfort of the client. Aching muscles and joints are relieved. Excess metabolic waste is flushed from the body reducing tension, headaches and edema. The mother leaves the session feeling more relaxed which has been shown to increase fetal nutrient uptake. Thai Yoga Massage Thai Yoga Massage employs passive stretches, massage techniques and simple yoga postures with directed breathing. Any of the postures can be further modified for the comfort of the client. Both relaxing and invigorating, this is an excellent antidote to the ill effects of a stressful or busy lifestyle. The Arvigo® Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy This technique is a non-invasive, external, massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimum health and well being. The technique works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems. Provided By: Suzi Wilkoff |
Trigger Point Therapy A trigger point is a small contraction knot in the muscle tissue. It affects the muscle by keeping it tight and weak and in a contracted state. As a result, these tight muscle fibers keep constant tension on the muscle’s attachment points, often producing pain in adjacent joints as well as in the soft tissue. This massage is specific for this type of pain. Provided By: Karianne Cisek |
